Travis Barnes

Travis

Travis got his start in archery after shooting and hunting with his father. “There is no thrill like sitting in a tree stand and harvesting a deer with a bow.” said Travis.  His favorite hunt was being there when his father harvested his first deer with a bow.

Travis has been involved with archery for 17 years and has experience with Mathews, Hoyt, Elite, and PSE bows.  Easton and Gold Tip arrows are his arrows of preference.  His future goals are to continue improving and helping others to discover the sport of archery.  He would also like to one day be able to harvest a Pope and Young class deer with his bow.

Travis enjoys bow hunting and 3-D competitions.  He has been competing for the last 5 years and has shot in the Male Bowhunter Open Class for all five of his competition years.

His advice to novice shooters is to “Practice often with good technique.  If you start to struggle, put your bow down and pick it back up later.”
